"Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." Gordon B. Hinckley

Kynzee's Birthday Invitation

We have another birthday in our family! April is a busy month for us. People probably think I am crazy but I absolutely love to make invitations for my girls birthday parties. I started making invitations when Maddy was born and everyone kept telling me it wouldn't last and here I am on the third child still doing it. I love to have a cute invitation in their scrapbook for their birthday. I also love to get invitations for my nieces and nephews parties with a picture and I keep them in a special scrapbook so my girls can look at them. So here is my newest invitation for Kynzee's party and I thought it turned out cute!

Reflecting back on the day Makenna was born

I have been reflecting back to the day Makenna was born a lot lately. I wanted to post some pictures of her when she was born so I could remember how tiny she was. Makenna only weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and seemed so small compared to my other girls who were both 7 1/2 lbs. I had am emergency C-section with Makenna and it was such a scary day. I remember when she was placed into my arms for the first time, the love I had for her was so great. She was warm and smelled so good, a brand new baby from heaven. I was the luckiest person alive at that moment. I have such a struggle throughout my pregnancies and nightmare deliveries, it seems like it takes me years to get those tiny miracles here. But I just keep doing it for many reasons, but one being it is a time that I feel so close to the spirit, like he is in the room right next to me. I have felt the Lord by my side at each one of the deliveries of my babies, what a comforting feeling that is. I know he has never left me alone during those frightful times in my life. I know that he sends these special spirits to me and on that day kisses them goodbye and lets me have them to love and to raise. I feel so honored to have been given that job. I will always remember the day my babies were born, it will linger in my heart forever. I want to make it a tradition to write about the day they were born on their birthdays and post pictures of them so tiny so I will never forget. I sure love my baby girls.

Fun summer toy!

I have to admit I hate trampolines!!! I was a nurse in Pediatrics and saw way too many accidents from trampolines so I have always told myself I would never buy one. Well Maddy has been bugging me to get one so I started looking for a safe one just her size, and I finally found one I absolutely love! walmart.com had this trampoline and it was so cheap and completely caged in and sooooo safe that even my little Makenna can jump in it. My girls love it and they jumped for hours in it all weekend. So much fun for them and I will never worry about them falling off or doing tricks on it that will break a bone. All they can do is jump and jump and jump and use it like trampolines were made to be used. And when I am working in the yard I can zip Makenna in it and she will not get loose. Love it! Love it! Just thought I would share it with you.

Maddy lost her 2nd tooth!!!!

Well we pulled another tooth this weekend. And yes Daddy is using a pair of Maddy's panties again, they are just the right size and not to thick so Daddy can get a good grip on Maddy's tiny teeth. This time they are hello kitty instead of princess. Maddy is loosing teeth like crazy and she is only 4 years old. I cannot believe it! Her new teeth are just pushing her old ones right out of her mouth they are so ready to come in. She was so brave and let her Daddy pull and pull until it finally came out. The tooth Fairy came to see her and she is a happy toothless girl!

Makenna's Birthday Party

We had a big weekend! We celebrated Makenna's 1st birthday. It brought back a lot of memories from the day she was born and all the events that followed. I am so lucky to be alive from having her and I am also lucky to have her alive today. I am so grateful at this time for modern medicine, you just never know when that one delivery might go bad and you need to be in the hands of a good Doctor. Our family has been blessed from Makenna in just one year. She has brought so much joy into our lives, she is such a sweet little angel. We all love her so much and it was a happy day to celebrate her birthday. I think every mom has those mixed emotions on birthdays and mine are very happy and sad at the same time. I just love my babies so much, I think they are so fresh from heaven that they bring a spirit into our home that is so indescribable. They just grow up way too fast. I will forever be thankful for the gift the Lord has given me, to be called a Mother.

Miss Makenna and her lady bug birthday cake!!!!

Kenna got books from Aunt Katie, and she loves to look at books! She also got a car that the girls can push her in and she giggles and giggles when she rides in it. She thinks she is pretty big in it and tries to stand up. The car will definitely be fun for summer.

Fullmer cousins and sisters waiting for Kenna to eat her cake!

Kenna got two baby dolls for her birthday and she loves them! Right when she opened them she gave them both kisses and hugs and would not put them down. She is such a sweetie!

Makenna on Grandma and Grandpa Fullmer's lap giving cousin Taya a hug! So cute.

Williams cousins waiting patiently to eat cake!

This is Kenna's cousin Jenna. I had to post this picture because it was so hilarious. Little Jenna was having so much fun with this balloon it kept her entertained for quite awhile. She was getting pretty excited about it and looked like she was attacking it!!! Funny Funny!

Auntie Katie and Makenna

I have told you all before how much Makenna loves Aunt Katie. Well Katie has been coming over to help me with the girls and we got these cute pictures so I had to share them with you. How funny is that with Makenna in glasses. She is the funniest little girl she makes us laugh so hard!

Makenna wishes she were a little bigger

It was a nice day and Maddy and Kynzee went outside to play. Makenna loves to watch them from the back window. But today she really wanted to go with them. She can't talk so she just sat at the window and squeeled hoping I would let her out. The girls kept running up to the window to say hello to her and she would cry when they went back to play. She is at a hard age where she can't walk and play with the big girls. They already have so much fun together but some day when Makenna can get around better they will be best little buddies!

Pretty flowers form my sweet sister in law Mindy

My sweet sister in law Mindy sent me some very pretty flowers and I just wanted to tell her thank you. You made my day Mindy, that was so thoughtful of you. You have always been such a good friend to me and I have sure missed you since you moved away. Thank you! My brother tried to tell me that it was his idea but I knew better than that. I am so lucky to have such good family members and friends that take such good care of me. Thank you to all of you!

Makenna's Birthday Invitation

I am not that crafty and I have a hard time thinking of cute ideas for invitations, but here is Makenna's invitation for her one year birthday party. I am so sad that she is going to be one. This year went by way to fast and I don't think it is fair that babies don't stay little very long. I sure love Makenna and she will always be my little baby doll.

Conference

I have always enjoyed Conference weekend. It is hard for me to get to church sometimes when our church is at 9:00 a.m. with 3 little ones and a husband who works a lot of Sundays. And it seems like when we do go I spend a lot of time in the hall with my baby, so I miss a lot of what is taught. So Conference was nice to be able to sit in my home with my girls and just listen. We had a wonderful weekend. I sure missed hearing President Hinckley speak. I always enjoyed listening to him and his challenges for us to do. But I thought President Monson was wonderful and has some very good things to teach us. One of my favorite talks was the one to the mothers. I don't even know who gave it, I was trying to keep my girls quiet and I missed his name. But I heard just about every word that was spoken. When he started off his talk saying that this was for mothers he had my attention. I need all the help I can get most days and his advice was wonderful. I tried to write down some of it and this is what I got from his talk that was important to me.

1. Live in the moment
Don't wish the time away. Enjoy the day and the time you are in. Time goes by so fast and you don't want to someday say "I wish I would have enjoyed my children when they were small."

2. Don't be so busy
Don't be so busy with so many things every week that you don't have time for your children and your family.

3. Have time for yourself
Make sure you save time for yourself. You will be a better mother and wife if you have had time to spend on yourself and feel good about yourself. But don't waste your time on substance abuse, TV, and the Internet.

4. Pray, study, and teach the gospel
The most important things you can do for yourself and your children. Set a good example for them by doing these things.

There was so much more that was said that I enjoyed and when the Ensign comes out with the Conference talks I will keep that talk on hand, that is for sure. If you missed Conference or missed that talk you will have to read it, it was wonderful. Always remember that being a Mother is the best calling anyone could have. We are so blessed to be called Mothers. The Lord must have loved us so much to have chosen us to be a Mother.

Good Advice

For our enrichment activity a couple months ago I got to help interview families in the ward to see what their secrets were to having a successful family. I learned some wonderful things from these families I could have sat and listened to them talk for hours. The things I learned from them have stuck with me and for some reason I feel like I need to post them on my blog. So here are some of the ones I found helpful to me and hopefully they will be to you.

When raising children you have to have a sense of humor. You have to learn to laugh at what your kids do instead of getting mad. (you have to admit most of the time the things they do that we can be mad at are pretty funny!)

We need to listen more. We cannot always tell our children what we want them to do, we need to listen to what they want to do. You cannot make a child do something they don't want to do and sometimes if we listen close enough we will hear what they are trying to tell us.

Every child is different and we cannot make them fit the mold that another child has made. Treat each of your children differently and meet their needs because each of their needs are going to be different from one child to the next.

Make a special effort to do something nice for each of your children everyday, so they feel loved and wanted.

Family Home Evening needs to be short when you have little ones. Teach them simple things like how to make a bed, tie their shoes, cross the road looking both ways, brush their teeth etc.

Kneel when having family prayer and children will learn to be reverent.

Start taking children to church when they are tiny so it isn't a struggle when they are older.

Always be home when your children get home from school so they will know you will always be there to greet them at the door and they wont wonder where you are.

Treat your children like you would want to be treated.

Love your spouse and let your children see that love and they will know they are loved because of this.

Leg ride from Daddy

Okay so is this not hilarious! As soon as Josh gets home from work the girls attack him and they want a leg ride from him. He walks around really fast in the kitchen with a girl on each leg and they scream and laugh and have so much fun. I finally had to get a picture. I love it!
