"Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." Gordon B. Hinckley

The Elk Hunt

Well hunting season snuck up on me again this year! Josh went on the week long elk hunt with his family last week and the kids and I stayed for four days in the trailer while he was and still is on the mountain in a tent probably freezing to death :) I stayed with Josh’s Mom, sister and Barb. We actually kept ourselves very busy with all sorts of fun things to do. I can’t say it was very easy with four kids and no husband though! It was beautiful up there and the weather couldn’t have been better. Geez one year I stayed in snow in October!!! So I will take this nice weather over snow any day. Except snow would have made the hunting better. The guys don’t hunt on Sunday so they came off the mountain for the day and they ate dinner with us and hung out for a little while, got a shower, and then they left again. I could tell that Josh was having a lot of fun and I am so glad he is! Hunting really means so much more to me than it use to. Josh is the hardest worker I know, he is never home, and he was in desperate need of a break away, and I am so glad he finally got one, doing what he loves to do the very most. It kills me when some women take away from their husbands what they love to do so much, because I think they really need it especially when life demands so much from them all the time. I mean I know how much I would love a break some days and boy that just doesn’t happen to Mommies because they are needed so much all the time. At least it only took me 8 years to figure this out and not a life time. Now I will hope and pray that my husband comes home with an elk so he will be in a wonderful mood!! See I really am learning now!! :)

Jaxon reminds me a lot of my little Gaugers. Just those cute little cheeks, that sweet little smile and those big eyes. He's probably just a loving and cuddly as Gaugers too. Big hearts in those little guys. Looks like ya all had a great time, and who gives a darn if you were in a trailer with no hubby... at least you were up in the mountains and he really wasn't too far out of reach!!! I miss those mountain times.

Looks like fun, it is always nice to get away. You have a good attitude about hunting, I am still working on it. Reid isn't hunting this year except maybey once next week (I didn't tell him he couldn't go.) It looks like Maddy got glasses? She looks cute in them.
