"Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." Gordon B. Hinckley

Trip to Salt Lake City Utah

We made another fun trip to Utah last weekend, and it was a blast!!! We went with my sister Katie and her boyfriend Rodger. My girls just love them both so much and they were so fun to spend the weekend with. It was nice not to have to be anywhere at any certain time, we just relaxed, slept in, swam everyday, and played until late at night!!! The girls had so much fun that they said we should move to Utah and live in a hotel :) :) I thought that was a great idea because the weather was just beautiful and then we got home to nasty wind!!! The girls love to swim and it was fun to watch them laugh and laugh and have so much fun in the water. Little Kenna kept wanting to jump off the side of the pool and have her Daddy catch her, she would say "again, again" she is such a brave soul. We spent the day Sunday at Temple Square and the Conference Center and it was worth every minute. We went through some of the Visitor Centers and listened to a fun little skit on families being forever and the girls sat there and listened and watched all of it, I was so proud of them for being so good. We went to the garden on the top of the Conference Center and it was amazing, I had been there before but it was fun taking my girls. The girls saw the Angel Moroni on top of the Temple and asked what that shiny gold thing was on the top of the temple, it was funny, but a great opportunity to tell them who that was and why he was up there. Josh proposed to me in front of the big waterfall and it was fun to come back to it 7 years later and take a picture of my girls in front of it. We had so much fun, the time always goes by too fast but it was worth it, I love a vacation even if it is just a few hundred miles away :) :)

Looks like lots and lots of fun. It does stink to come back to all of the wind here.

Oh what fun family memories you make!!!! I got teary-eyed looking at all the pictures....my dad is from Salt Lake and it was like a second home to me while we grew up. I haven't been back there very often since I got married...you know....life happens...I really hope to go back and visit there again soon.

I am so glad your girls got the chance to see everything and take in some tours. I was their age when I first went and I STILL remember doing that like it was yesterday....there is such a wonderful feeling of peace there on temple square.

The weather is good in Utah now but just wait until July when it is 110 degrees there. You will be glad to be here. I do hate the wind too. I am glad you had fun!
