"Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." Gordon B. Hinckley

The Nutcracker Ballet

The girls love ballet so much but I think their favorite part is being able to perform in the nutcracker. The nutcracker is a fun Christmas performance and it always gets me in the Christmas spirit.  We have done so many different kinds of dancing over the years and we have finally narrowed it down to the girls love love love ballet. So next year we will only be doing one kind of dancing and we are..or should I say I am excited about that!! I will not be taking kids to dance every day of the week which will be so nice. I love ballet and the things it teaches the girls, they are so graceful and have really good posture and I know its from what their ballet teacher has taught them. I always look forward to watching them perform and this year I went to the whole week of rehearsals with the girls and it was so fun to se them. They had pictures taken and I got to be there for that and the photographer let me snap a few of my own pictures so I could put them on my blog. Then I just took a bunch of random pictures of the girls on those nights. I usually wait until the night of the performance but for some reason I didn’t this year and I am so glad I didn’t wait. I ended up hurting my back really bad and it put me flat it bed for the night of the performance and the week after and I missed the girls dance. I felt horrible but I was so grateful I had got to spend the week with them before their special night. I will never regret taking pictures early and not waiting. I sure love these three girls they are so sweet and so special to me. They really are best friends and they treat each other so kind and I love that. They did an amazing job this year in the nutcracker and their teacher said they are doing wonderful and advancing so quickly. Last year Maddy and Kynzee watched the soldiers perform and they talked about how they wanted to be a soldier one year. They knew in order to make the soldier part they had to have their splits down all the way to do the split line that they do. The girls worked so hard on their splits and made the part and they were so excited. It was fun to see them work so hard for something and achieve it. I can’t wait to watch their next performance in the spring..how fun!!
