"Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." Gordon B. Hinckley

Motorbike Race in Boise

My brothers have been racing in this 100 mile race in Boise for a few years now and Josh decided to try it out this year. It is actually in Idaho City right before Boise way up in the mountains and this year it was 115 mile race!!! Josh left at 10:45 a.m. and did not cross the finish line until 6:36 p.m. It was such a hot, long day and I felt so bad for the riders because a lot of them didn't even get to finish the race it was so long. It was a very hard race in the mountains going through all kinds of trails and logs and side hills. We didn't even get to watch them because they were back so far up the mountain we couldn't see them. There was a gas stop that they had where we waited for them to come in so we knew they weren't hurt or missing somewhere like some riders were. So we got to see them one time in the middle of the race for just a minute and then they were off again. I couldn't believe my crazy husband really wanted to do this or do it again next year. But it was a fun weekend that we won't forget, especially Josh!!!
The girls being so good in the car!!

Josh before the race checking in his bike, I was thinking this might be the last time we see him in one piece :)

What a LONG day!!
I just think it's so cool that your husband will still attempt things like this. So exciting!
I bet it was hard though wondering what might happen....that is nice that there was a check in station for you all to "check in" on the guys.
Congrats to them all for making it across the finish line! YAY!

What a riot. I'll bet the girls loved that! So fun for you all. Someday, when we have a normal life, you will have to tell us where one is and we can go with you. I think it would be so fun. And congrats on finishing!!!!!

Congrats Josh - that is a big accomplishment! That is a looong day for a wife and three little girls. I will NOT be telling Nick about this or we may see you there next year and I doubt my nerves could take it. :)

Wow, what an adventure. I have to say I am glad that Reid has decided that motocross really isn't his thing.

I have heard from many guys that this is a long and super hard race. It is awesome that Josh finished, I know lots of guys that haven't been able to. It looks like you guys had a good weekend with your family though.
