Easter Egg Hunt

I wasn’t feeling very well Saturday and I was suppose to be down as much as possible, so Josh was going to take the kids to the Easter egg hunt and I was going to stay home. Well this really bothered me because I wanted to go but I just didn’t want to go and fight the huge crowd of people that is usually there. So I said to Josh why don’t we make our own and Josh was so nice he agreed and my family agreed so Josh ran to town and bought a bunch of eggs and Easter toys and filled them and we had our own hunt. My Mom filled some eggs to and in twelve of the eggs she put a dollar bill and the kids thought they won a million bucks!!! We have plenty of kids to make our own hunt and it was so nice because we didn’t have to battle all the people at the one we usually go to. The kids love to spend time with their cousins so it worked out perfect. Josh was so nice to help me put it together so I didn’t have to do anything. We all agreed that we will do this every year because it was perfect for the kids!! The weather was beautiful, I was so thankful for some sunshine I really needed some and so did the kids.

Every chance this little guy had he would sit down and check out what was in his basket and then he would try to open a piece of candy…he is so smart.

Kenna….

I went in to check on Kenna the other night and this is how I found her. She had made  a big mess in her room with all her toys and then she had fallen asleep in this chair with her chin propped up on it. I couldn’t believe she was actually sleeping, she didn’t look very comfortable at all.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Josh took the kids to the school carnival and while they were gone my Mom helped me boil eggs so when the kids got home they could color them. My brother and sister in law came over to see us and they came just in time to color eggs with us! The kids had so much fun coloring eggs this year, it seems like the older they get the more involved they can be and they love it. My brother was like a kid all over again he was having so much fun, it was fun to watch him. Jaxon was asleep but he woke up after the eggs were all colored so we let him see the final project and he loved those eggs. He picked them up and was hitting them into each other and he was so excited, we were all laughing so hard, it was funny funny! We had a fun night coloring eggs!!

I know I look so horrible right now but here is proof that I was there when the kids colored eggs. I can’t wait to go to the doctor tomorrow to hopefully get these steri strips pulled off my neck so it looks  a little better.

Jaxon……..

Look what my little boy can do!! I cannot believe this, I have never had one of my kids learn to do this. I was so shocked when I saw him I had to grab my camera. The play saucer is no longer a safe place for him to be when I am busy, but at least it lasted until he was 16 months old, it got lots of use! I cannot lift him for two weeks because of my surgery and it has been so hard on me and him. The other day I was teaching  him to crawl out of his crib down the side so I could slide him to the floor, so I could have a way of getting him out since I could not lift him out. Well I am afraid I taught him more than just that!!!! It will be another long week without being able to lift  or carry him. I have really had to rely on Josh for lots of help and he has taken off lots of work so he can be here to help and for that I have been grateful.

Dance competition in Sugar City

This is a late post but the Saturday before I had surgery my girls had a dance competition in Sugar City that I got to go to. I was feeling very blessed that I could go and that I wouldn’t be having surgery until after their dance. They danced so beautiful and I really enjoyed spending that day with them doing something they love to do. I was having a really hard time listening to the lyrical, soft, songs because it seemed like they were all sad and I cried through a lot of them, I had a lot of emotion that day because I knew I was going to have to leave my kids the next day and I didn’t know how long it was going to be for. I was glad when we made it through that dance competition, and my little boy was too!! The girls are getting really good at dancing this year and it is so fun to watch them, dance has definitely gotten us through this long nasty winter.

A day with my sister…

My one and only sister Katie had a huge scare for us all a few weeks ago and because of it she got put on strict bedrest for a few weeks. She was going to watch my kids for me while I had surgery and because of this she could no longer do that. It was best to keep her down in bed so she really didn’t go anywhere or do anything except for going to the doctor. So the Friday before I had surgery Katie’s husband dropped her off on his way to work to spend bedrest at my house so she could spend the day with me. I had a lot of packing to do and things to get ready for surgery but we ended up doing a lot of sitting around and talking instead. Katie colored with Kenna and painted her nails, Kenna loves Katie! We had a fun day together, I was glad I got to spend this time with her before I had to leave. I am so lucky to have a sister, I don’t know what I would do without her. An update on Katie is she is off bedrest for now and she just cannot lift, she is suppose to be taking it easy…baby boy Kolby is due in June!!!! We can’t wait to see him!!!
